HV2-C €1010 + VAT
The HV-2C is our all purpose mainsail, the sail is manufactured from custom built technora laminate, we use a 1mil film in the leech, head and foot panels and 0.75mil film in the luff section, this allows the sail to be competitive throughout the whole wind range. This is our recommended fabric mix for the HV-2 mold; however we can manufacture this HV-2 design shape in any fabric combination.
KA-2 €915 + VAT
The KA-2 is our light wind 0-10 knot mainsail. It is the same depth as the HV-2 but has a finer entry and straighter exit angle in the lower 1/3 of the sail. The KA-2 was used to win Silver and Bronze in China. The sail is manufactured from Bainbridge SL-500 Polyester.

North Melges 24 Sails
This is North's all-round design Kevlar Mainsail; Developed in the USA by Vince Brun, this sail is built in only two sail lofts Worldwide, San Diego and Gosport. Cut in North's own exclusive Clear Film Kevlar this sail comes complete and ready to race including bag, battens, sail numbers, windows, royalty label and class measurement. This sail is a little fuller than the KM-08 mainsail and as a result develops more power and is a very superior sail in chop.
Mainsail AP-3 €2400 +VAT
Mainsail KM-8 €2400 +VAT
The KM-8 is the latest mainsail to be introduced into the North Sails armoury. This sail has been developed with the emphasis on stronger winds as the sail has more luff curve and flatter sections in the leach. This sail is really easy to use in a breeze but can prove a little tricky for some in lighter conditions and waves. For sure if the forecast is for breeze and you can get all the crew on the side this sail will have the edge. Something to add to your inventory and bring out when the breeze is strong.
Jib J-7 €1356 + VAT
The J-7 Jib is North's standard Jib design that was conceived during the early part of 2004. In response to the change to Kevlar we quickly realized that the Melges 24 jibs could be a lot fuller. This was mainly due to the incredible low stretch properties of the new Kevlar fabric. This Jib design quickly replaced the J-5BK as the ideal all round Jib for International competition being fast throughout the wind range. This sail was used to win the Lake Garda regatta, Volvo Cup, Italian Nationals, French Nationals and the Worlds.
Jib J-8 €1360 + VAT
The J-8 Jib is quite a new design that was conceived during the early part of 2005 and tested at many of the big regattas. In fact, this design took first and second at the 2005 Europeans where we decided its' development was finished and it was ready for the market. This sail is made from a lighter fabric in response to the new 4kg Jib rule and comes out just over minimum weight.
The main difference between the J-7 and the J-8 is that the J-8 is a little fuller in the entry and has slightly more leach return. We feel this sail is very well suited to our European conditions and works well as an all round design.
Max Runner VMG €2125 + VAT
Cut exclusively in Contender Dynalite – This silicon coated fabric stands up to the damp European conditions better than any other on the market today. The North Max Runner, previously known as the VMG, is designed for running in all conditions. This spinnaker is a great all-round sail that can run deeper than any other sail on the market, yet is open enough to sail high to defend your position when necessary. Additional shaping in the luff supports a large projected area, which allows you to sail very deep and still keep the boat speed up. Because the leech of the sail is relatively open, this sail also performs well when the wind is strong or very light and forward of the beam.
Under the rules, you are allowed to have two spinnakers on board. Having the North Max Runner in combination with the North Power Zone Reacher is highly recommended for a two spinnaker program. For a one-spinnaker program, we recommend this sail as the spinnaker of choice! This sail works great in all conditions! Cut from Contender Dynalite and available in a wide range of colours, it comes complete with Spectra luff line, royalty label, class measurement and colour coded tapes.
Ask about sail graphics! North have a very experienced in-house team for this service.
Power Zone Reacher PZR €2125 + VAT
The Power Zone Reacher is designed to get you over the waves and quickly onto the plane. It is cut open in the leech with a flatter luff curve so that when you press up for speed the boat accelerates and planes without the overpowered feeling associated with a fuller luff spinnaker. This sail gets you in the power zone more quickly. The power zone is the zone where the boat is powered up and planning freely, not bound up or over heeled. We use this sail in all planing conditions and it is also very fast in light air, especially when there is chop causing the luff to become unstable on fuller spinnakers. Under the current rules, you are allowed to have two spinnakers on board. Having the Power Zone Reacher in combination with the Max Runner is highly recommended for a two spinnaker program.
The sail is cut from Contender Dynalite, available in a range of colours, and comes with all the extras listed above.
H-5 €1010 + VAT
The H-5 is our all purpose mainsail for the lighter Finn sailor, designed 1/2% flatter than the HV-2 the H-5 is a more manageable sail in stronger breeze as used by Zach Railey to win Silver in China. The sail is manufactured from custom built technora laminate, we use a 1mil film in the leech, head and foot panels and 0.75mil film in the luff section, and this allows the sail to be competitive throughout the whole wind range. This is our recommended fabric mix for the H-5 mold; however we can manufacture this H-5 design shape in any fabric combination.
M-1 €1010 + VAT
The M-1 is Ben Ainslie 2008 Olympics all purpose mainsail. The sail is slightly deeper than the HV-2 to generate more power; however the luff panels are rocked so that the fibers follow the Cunningham loads allowing the sail to be de-powered more easily. Manufactured from custom built technora laminate, we use a 1mil film in the leech, head and foot panels and 0.75mil film in the luff section; this allows the sail to be competitive throughout the whole wind range. This is our recommended fabric mix for the M-1 mold; however we can manufacture this M-1 design shape in any fabric combination.
M-05 €915 + VAT
The M-05 is Ben Ainslie 2008 Olympics light wind 0-10 knot mainsail. Built with slightly less luff curve than the M-1 mainsail to allow for raising the boom off the deck in the lighter conditions and is manufactured from Bainbridge SL-500 Polyester.
The HV-2, HV2-L, D2 and D2-L are still available at the moment, to special order.
